Be grateful if you have a teenager who feels comfortable enough with you to talk to you. Most teens start thinking their parents are deaf and dense so they stop sharing their lives with them. If you have a teen who values your opinion and takes time to talk to you openly, take the time to listen. Drop what you are doing and actively listen to what they are saying or not saying. Some teens take the long road to get to their point while others are succinct and direct. Learn your teen’s style of communicating and listen.
