Hello, hello again!! I'm back home after a week of vacationing and visiting with family and friends in California. I went to pick up the girls from their summer vacation with their cousins, aunts, granparents, and great-grandmother. When I arrived in L.A. last week, we started the celebrations with a birthday party for me and my pop who also has his birthday in August. As usual, food played a major role. I'm not getting on the scale as I'm sure I've gained at least a few pounds from all the eating we did.
After the party, we left for our family vacation in Las Vegas. We entertained the kids during the day, and at night, we moms did our casino hopping and Vegas nightlife. It was fun, fun, fun! It was generally a girl trip except for my poor dad who was the lone male in the group. I'll post more photos soon as soon as I get copies from Sister O and Sister S. I didn't take as many photos myself as was having too much fun. I did take these two photos of the Hoover Dam though. It has been ages since I've been to the dam, and it is still as awesome as I remember. I'm glad the girls got to see it even though it was HOT! Our 90 degree weather today seems downright cool compared to the sizzling 113 degrees while we were sightseeing in Nevada.
On the second photo, you may notice the two outcrops on either side of the gorge. A bridge is being built to span this gorge, complete with four lane highway for cars and a walk way for pedestrians. Completion date is planned for 2010. I can't wait to see it again when it's completed!
And, oh yeah, I did come away from Las Vegas ahead. SisterO and I are so proud we didn't even hit the ATM. lol!! I actually won $450 on our last night gambling. Woohoo!
