Of Marriages and Divorces
Tuesday, December 2, 2014

Not too long ago, I found out that the country of my birth, the Philippines, is the remaining holdout (aside from the Vatican) to not have divorce laws in place. My parents, however, were divorced. NOT Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood

We came home one day and we couldn't get to our street because the street we take to get to ours was blocked. By police cars and the crime lab van! Apparently they found a dead person in the alley a couple of blocks away from our house. We don't really know what happened or any details, but I know the house adjacent to the alley is a half way house for men recently released from drug rehabs. So who knows, it could be someone who overdosed or got into trouble over drugs. It's kind of scary, living so close to a half way house, but what can we do? We can't afford to move. This neighborhood is slowly sliding downhill.
