What's Cookin', Good Lookin'?

Aioli with Garlic Shrimp

Aioli is a fancy version of mayonnaise (click on the photo for the recipe). If you want to impress your dinner guest, serve homemade aioli and serve it with hearty french baguettes and vegetables, or do as I did and serve it with shrimps and pasta. It sounds intimidating to say you're going to make your own mayo, but it is actually quite easy especially when you don't have to whisk it by hand. Just use a blender or a food processor. If you have qualms about using raw eggs, you can use commercially prepared mayonnaise instead and just kick up the flavors with the pureed garlic and lemon. You can also add herbs to heighten the flavors even more, such as basil, or flat leaf parsley.

Just got back from a 4-day trip to Carmel-by-the Sea, Ca. Good choice because its cooler up there. Had a great time dining out. You wouldn't think, I'd be attracted to your good looking food, huh? But I did. Will try your recipe, when I get in the mood to cook.

I love mayo even if it is "sinful". With garlic and lemon juice, I love that with fish fillet. You got me hungry LOL. :) Gotta get that breakfast now.
